I forgot this one!

This turned out to be one of my favorites. I made & gave it to my SIL for her birthday. I was surprised how nicely this mauve went w/ the brown. Initially I was gonig to use a lighter pink but @ the suggestion of my other SIL, I used the mauve. It was a good choice. ;o)

I can't WAIT!

My mom said that a girlfriend from work decided to get rid of her UNused fabric, cause she had so much! She's sending it ALL to me! My mom has 2 bags right now that she is going to bring over tomorrow. Plus the lady said that there is more to come. I am SO excited.

My mom said that some of it is 'Hawaiian' print....I have no idea WHAT is may look like but it sounds inspiring. Just what I need to catch up on some new purse making & late gift giving.

Oh I can hardly wait. :o)

More quick gift scarves

Normally I don't like yarn fringe, but this needed some edge cleaning up. The fringe works well for that.

The colors came out much better than I anticipated & I just LOVE it. It's intended for a friend......we'll see if it makes it. lol Again, I used my chubby hook, 'Q'. It is just so much faster that way.

This pink one is made from a softer yarn. It has a more lacy look to it because I did a V-stitch instead of my regular rows of double crochets. It's also very long & looks kind of 'ruffly'. I also did 2 rows above the starting chain & then came back & did 2 rows under the starting chain. It produces a center line up the middle.

This is a close up of the stitch & the finished design. The yarn is very soft & I really like how it turned out.

Boys gifts

This one was for my 5.5 yo son. He picked out the yarn months ago & wanted a hat & scarf. I finally started & gave it to him for Christmas. He hasn't stopped wearing them & gets lots of compliments, especially being such a 'boyish' yarn. Now he can stop pilfering his brother's.

The hat was a baby beanie pattern & I tried using a larger hook to adjust the fit. It did not come out exactly right, but it works. I created textured stripes by using a double crochet stitch in the back loops of each row.

This yarn was chosen by my (stb) 13 yo ds. I thought it looked quite festive & would probably look adorable as a holiday poncho for my 3.5 yo dd. It hasn't happened yet though. lol Ds LOVED it when he opened it on Christmas morning.

I made one textured stripe along one side but that turned out not to be such a great idea becuase it causes the scarf to kind of 'roll' onto itself.
