Found something Easier!

PATCHES!!! SO much easier to work w/ than Beaded Trim!!! I think I am addicted to sewing. lol I LOVE how these patches came out. {**The spots are not on the skirt, but rather on the picture from the camera**} I burned the dragonfly's wings by not properly covering the patch w/ a second cloth when I ironed it on. Oldest son was kind enough to fill me in afterwards when I wondered why it happened. lol. You can't really tell though.

A better view of all the patches. I can't wait to make a matching purse for this. The fabric is kinda thin though. I was not pleased w/ how it seemed to appear kinda sheer in light. H said it was ok ....not sure if I should trust his assessment though. ;o)

Kt'sKreations

BTW: I haven't given up on my crochet. I still have it & still love it. But maybe I should change this title to Kreations instead of Krochet...since I have branched out a bit? lol

It became too hot to crochet when we had that little heat wave couple weeks ago. And sewing is much faster. But I still prefer crochetted ponchos & the like. And crochet travels much better than a sewing machine. ;o)

Once this cooler weather sets in....I'm sure the poncho's will be all the rage again! ;o)

Polka Dot Power!

I made this darling bag yesterday for my 18 yo cousin (aka: wicked step-sister) for a birthday gift. I tried something different & made the flap w/ a large scallop edge. The fabric was thicker than I've used in the past & had a bit of a weave to it. So the scalloped edge started to unravel in places. I finally went over all the edging using the zig-zag stitch & that helped keep it more together. I really liked the dingle-ball trim. I think it 'makes' it. kwim?

I think a bright pink thread would have been more decorative to use as well. I had pale pink thread but you really can't see it so I could have used white just as well. Otherwise, I love it & would love to keep it for myself. I have plenty of fabric left over though so I will be making a smaller one for myself. Did you really think I would't?

Nephew's Book Bag

I made this bag for my nephew's birthday. It's filled w/ books 'donated' by the ktbunch. lol I wanted something boyish but didn't have time nor $$$ to run out to purchase fabric. I was kinda kicking myself for not buying that scrap of spiderman fabric last time I was @ Walmart.

I finally found this masculine looking print stuffed away in the closet. It was a pillow sham from a set I no longer use. I've got plenty of fabric, (it also has a queen size duvet) so I think I will be able to produce many more BOY bags! lol

I wanted to add some iron on letters to say: My Bag, to make it feel more personal but...of course I couldn't find ANY when I actually needed/wanted them!

Reversable skirt

I finally finished my reversable skirt. The opposite side is khaki colored. You know I have a 'thing' for beaded fringe trim...but I MUST get over it. I think this skirt would have been a nice casual skirt w/o the beads. I made the top seam pretty easily & it came out good. The bottom seam, however was not as easy, especially since I was attaching the beaded trim. Also the beads are not that sturdy & a few have already come unbeaded. (in ONE day!)

This is a closer (hopefully) view of the beaded trim. Ignore the hobbit feet! ;o)

Here's a view of the reversed (khaki) side.

This style also sits low on the hips, below the waste. btw.
